A bold, new era of the Longbox begins here! For first-timers and old fans, welcome to the bi-weekly show. To show how dedicated this show is growth and change, we’ve decided to do our own grimdark reboot of the podcast. Starting with Spawn, the show is now gritty and extreme. These are our Image Years!
After what feels like forever, Matt and Tyler return to the weekly format! They planned the usual show: ten books, questions, the works. And you know what, listeners? The entire show was spent on Marvel #1000. Thank Al Ewing and friends, tendrils, because this week on The Longbox Podcast, all 80 pages of the book are reviewed in the span of one episode!
Like this week’s Silver Surfer, the Longbox Podcast is shouting into the void. Is anybody listening? Does anyone want to hear Tyler and Matt’s thoughts on books like Immortal Hulk, Event Leviathan, and The Batman Who Laughs? Anybody? Oh well, hope those headphones are in, new Longbox is here and ready for the ear!
This week on The Longbox, Matt and Tyler are all about new beginnings and violent, bloody endings. A new puppy joins the fray at TLB Basement HQ and things are good. On The Walking Dead and DCeased front things are, well, not so good.! It’s a bit of a mixed bag but hey, there’s good comics, bad jokes, and unsolicited photos. The Longbox you love with more puppies and death!
A fifth week can either be a bust or something special for comics. This week, Matt and Tyler are happy to announce the books are so good and so beefy. From Grand Design to Doomsday Clock to Heroes in Crisis, the boys are eating it all this week. Wondering why eating? Plug those headphones in, tendrils! You’re about to find out!
Here at the Longbox, Matt and Tyler like to keep it professional. No games, all business. The comics are the only things that matter on this show. War of the Realms and Year of the Villain? Of course, they’re being covered! This week’s episode, listeners, is all about the comics and there is absolutely no funny business at all. Scouts honor!
Listeners, how do you set the mood? Usually, it’s some candles, a little Marvin Gay, and some chocolate. For the Longbox, the only foreplay we need is a live reading of Silvia Plath’s The Bell Jar. This might be a comics podcast but depressing literary classics are what tends the loins of this show. Here’s to hoping you use this episode to spice things up with your partner!
